Varsity Blues Cast (VB)
High School students in grades 9 -12th in Southeast Michigan are encouraged to try out in September.
The Varsity Blues Cast Auditions:
Auditions take place over two evenings held in September. Those that make the cast perform in the Holiday Show in December, go on tour at a great destination in June and culminate with the Summer Show in July.
Auditions:
Evening #1: Dress casual to be ready to learn dance numbers from top instructors that you will then perform for the director.
Evening #2: During the second evening we ask you to come prepared with a song to perform for the show director. You will need to provide your own music. You can accompany your number with a musical instrument or backing track if you choose not to perform acapella.
Audition Tips:
Practice beforehand and walk in with confidence. If you're well prepared and comfortable, you'll have the audition in the palm of your hand.
Varsity Blues Cast Rehearsals:
The cast meets once a week beginning mid-September through July with added rehearsals the closer we get to show dates!!
Varsity Blues Retreat
January/February. During retreat the VB Cast will learn all the choreography for Tour Show. We also have fun-filled special activities and a great way for the cast to really bond with each other.
VB TOUR
Every year, in June, we take the VB cast on location to perform Tour Show. They travel on Tour for approximately 4 to 5 days performing this show in different locations and they will also take a musical theater workshop, which is very educational. The VB cast has performed in many amazing locations such as, New York City, Disney World, Chicago, Nashville, Boston and Branson.
